Terms of Service
Last updated 31 August 2026
These Terms explain what you can expect from Site Hunts and what we expect from you. They are written to be read — plain language, no hidden clauses — and they form a binding agreement once you create an account.
1.Acceptance of these Terms
These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of Site Hunts (the “Service”). By creating an account, you confirm that you have read and agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not create an account or use the Service.
You accept these Terms on your own behalf, and — if you use the Service for an organisation — on that organisation’s behalf, confirming you are authorised to do so.
2.What Site Hunts does
Site Hunts is a tool for web designers and agencies. It helps you:
- Search a city and category for local businesses, and assess whether each appears to have an official website.
- Review the evidence behind that assessment, along with a lead and opportunity score.
- Generate a complete multi-page website for a business from its available public information — with pages such as Home, About, Services, Gallery, Reviews, FAQ, Booking and Contact — using AI assistance for written copy and, where configured, generated imagery. Which pages a site includes depends on your plan and on what suits the business.
- Edit that website in the browser and configure its contact, booking and messaging details.
- Publish the finished website to third-party hosting.
- Draft and, where email sending is configured, send outreach messages to businesses you choose.
- Track leads through a pipeline and prepare documents such as proposals, contracts and invoices.
Features that depend on an external provider are only available when that provider is configured for your installation. Where one is unavailable, the Service says so rather than substituting an invented result.
3.Eligibility and accounts
To use the Service you must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract. You must provide a name, a valid email address and a password when you register, and keep that information accurate.
One account is for one person. You are responsible for your password, for everything done through your account, and for telling us promptly if you believe it has been used without your permission. We do not ask for your password, and no one at Site Hunts can read it.
4.Your responsibilities
You agree to:
- Use the Service in compliance with the laws that apply to you, including marketing, electronic-communications, data-protection and unfair-competition rules.
- Verify important facts about a business before you rely on them commercially.
- Be truthful in any website, proposal or message you produce with the Service and send to a third party.
- Hold the rights to anything you upload, and to anything you publish through the Service.
5.Business information and third-party data
Business listings, locations, contact details, opening hours and photographs shown in the Service come from third-party sources — principally OpenStreetMap and its contributors, and, where a key is configured, Google Places. Site Hunts also performs its own checks, including DNS lookups and requests to candidate web addresses, to judge whether a business appears to have a working website.
These checks are evidence, not a guarantee. Site Hunts does not warrant that a business reported as having no official website in fact has none, that a business exists, is still trading, or that any detail shown about it is current or correct. A confidence score and the underlying signals are shown so you can judge for yourself, and you should verify anything that matters before acting on it.
Third-party data remains subject to its own source’s licence and terms. OpenStreetMap data is published by the OpenStreetMap Foundation under the Open Database License, and its attribution requirements apply to your use of it.
6.AI-generated content
Parts of the Service use AI models operated by third parties to draft written copy — website text, competitor and site-audit summaries, and outreach messages — and, where an image provider is configured, to generate illustrative images.
AI output can be wrong, generic, or unsuitable for a particular business. It is a draft for you to review, not a finished professional product, and it is not legal, financial or professional advice. You are responsible for reviewing and correcting anything the Service drafts before you publish it or send it to anyone.
As between you and Site Hunts, you own the output you generate for your own projects, subject to the AI provider’s own terms and to any third-party rights in material the output is based on. Similar or identical output may be generated for other users.
7.Generated websites
A generated website is a self-contained site — delivered as a single file that behaves as a multi-page website — assembled from the business information available to the Service, your edits, and generated copy and imagery. It may include photographs and details drawn from third-party sources.
Before you publish a site for a business, or present it as that business’s own, you are responsible for confirming that the content is accurate, that you have the rights to any images and text it contains, and that the business has agreed to it. You must not present a generated site in a way that misleads the public into thinking it is an official site of a business that has not authorised it.
Generated sites can include a contact or reservation form. Submissions to that form are delivered by email to the address configured for that site; see the Privacy Policy for what that involves.
8.Your content
“Your content” means what you put into the Service: your account details, saved leads, notes, generated and edited websites, documents, and outreach drafts.
You keep ownership of your content. You grant Site Hunts only the permission needed to run the Service for you — to store your content, process it, display it back to you, and transmit it to the third-party providers required to carry out something you ask for, such as publishing a site or sending a message. That permission lasts while your content is in the Service and ends when it is deleted. We do not claim any other rights, and we do not use your content to advertise or to train our own models.
9.Publishing and third-party hosting
Publishing sends the generated site to Vercel, which hosts it and serves it publicly at an address it assigns. That site is public: anyone with the address can see it, and search engines may index it. Hosting is governed by Vercel’s own terms, and availability, takedown and retention of a published site are ultimately in Vercel’s hands.
When a site is published successfully, Site Hunts records that the business now has a website so it is no longer offered to you — or to other users — as a business without one. That record stores the business’s identifier from the underlying map data, its name, the published address and the time of publication.
You are responsible for what you publish, and for removing a published site if the business asks you to or if you no longer have the right to display its material.
10.Outreach and communications
The Service can draft outreach messages and, where email sending is configured, send them to an address you supply. You choose every recipient. Site Hunts does not send messages on its own and does not sell or supply mailing lists.
You are the sender. You are responsible for having a lawful basis to contact each recipient, for honouring opt-outs and complying with the marketing and anti-spam laws that apply to you and to them, and for the accuracy of what you send. Sending unsolicited bulk messages through the Service is a breach of these Terms.
11.Acceptable use
You must not:
- Use the Service to harass, defraud, impersonate or mislead anyone, including by publishing a website that pretends to be a business's official site without its authorisation.
- Send unsolicited bulk email or any message that breaches marketing or anti-spam law.
- Scrape, resell or redistribute the business data in the Service as a dataset or competing product, or use it in a way that breaches the source's licence.
- Attempt to gain access to another account, another user's data, or any part of our systems you have not been given access to.
- Probe, interfere with or place an unreasonable load on the Service or the third-party services it relies on, or work around any usage limit.
- Reverse engineer the Service, except where that restriction cannot lawfully be imposed on you.
- Use the Service to generate or publish unlawful material, or material that infringes someone else's rights.
12.Third-party services
The Service depends on providers we do not control, including map and business-data sources, AI providers, hosting and deployment, database hosting, email delivery and payment processing. The Privacy Policy lists the categories and what each receives.
Their terms apply to their part of the work, and their outages, changes, pricing and decisions are outside our control. If you connect your own account with a third-party service, your agreement with that provider governs it.
13.Plans, billing and usage limits
Some features are limited by plan. Where payment is required, it is taken by Stripe on its own hosted checkout page; Site Hunts does not receive or store your card number. Prices, taxes and any refund position are shown at the point of purchase.
Usage limits exist so a shared external service is not exhausted by one account. We may adjust them, and we will not do so in a way that removes something you have already paid for during the period you paid for it.
14.Availability and changes to the Service
The Service is provided on an ongoing basis without a guaranteed level of availability. It may be interrupted for maintenance, by a failure at a provider we rely on, or by circumstances outside our control.
We may add, change or remove features. If we discontinue something you depend on, we will give reasonable notice where we practically can. Your generated sites can be exported as HTML at any time, so your work is not locked in.
15.Intellectual property
The Service itself — its software, interface, name and branding — belongs to Site Hunts and its licensors. These Terms give you permission to use the Service, not ownership of it. You may not copy, adapt or redistribute the Service, or use the Site Hunts name or logo, except as these Terms allow.
If you believe something in the Service infringes your rights, contact us at support@sitehunts.com with enough detail to identify the material.
16.Suspension and termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these Terms, that is being used unlawfully, or where continuing to serve it would expose Site Hunts, another user or a third party to real risk. Where the circumstances allow, we will tell you why and give you a chance to put it right.
Sections that by their nature should survive — your content ownership, intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability and indemnity — continue to apply after an account ends.
17.Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent the law allows, Site Hunts makes no warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy or non-infringement.
In particular, we do not warrant that business data is accurate or complete, that a website-status assessment is correct, that AI-generated content is accurate or suitable, that outreach will be delivered or produce a result, or that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free.
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, and if you deal as a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected.
18.Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Site Hunts is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost business, lost goodwill or lost or corrupted data, arising out of or connected with your use of the Service.
Our total liability for all claims connected with the Service in any twelve-month period is limited to the greater of the amount you paid for the Service in that period and one hundred US dollars.
These limits do not apply to liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or to any other liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
19.Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold Site Hunts harmless from claims, losses and reasonable legal costs brought by a third party and arising from your use of the Service in breach of these Terms or of the law — in particular from websites you publish, messages you send, and content you supply or generate and then use.
20.Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as the Service changes or the law requires. The version and date at the top of this page always identify the current text. If a change materially reduces your rights or increases your obligations, we will give reasonable notice before it takes effect — by email or in the app — and continuing to use the Service after that date means you accept the updated Terms. The version you accepted when you registered is recorded against your account.
21.Governing law and disputes
If something goes wrong, please write to us first at support@sitehunts.com. Nearly everything is quicker to fix directly than through a formal process, and we would rather resolve a complaint than argue about it.
These Terms do not require you to bring a dispute in a country of our choosing. Any dispute will be governed by, and decided under, the law that the applicable conflict-of-laws rules point to, and the mandatory law of the country where you live continues to protect you in full. Should a single governing law and forum be specified in future, it will be set out in this section and notified under Changes to these Terms.
If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest continues in force. Our not enforcing a provision on one occasion is not a waiver of it.
